"Players like Tuomo are extremely difficult to replace, and it is very important for our franchise to keep him here long term," said 'Canes general manager Jim Rutherford. "Along with the physical elements and skill level that he brings on the ice, Tuomo is a popular leader in our locker room. The 29-year-old has totaled 17 goals and 30 points in 57 games for Carolina this season, his eighth in the NHL.
A former first-round pick of Chicago in 2001, Ruutu has compiled 128 goals, 295 points and 498 penalty minutes in 517 games for the Blackhawks (2003-08) and Hurricanes (2008-present).

Another bet across all major team sports including football, basketball, baseball, and hockey involves wagering on the amount of scoring in a game, called an Over/Under total. For example, the Over/Under total on Super Bowl XXXIX was 48, which means a bettor could wager whether there would be more or less than 48 points scored by both teams combined in the game.
